Michael John Burnette, 62, of Forest, died on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Mike is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Judy Tyree Burnette. Born in Portsmouth, VA on September 11, 1948, Mike was the son of Elaine J. Burnette of Lynchburg and the late Bennie E. Burnette.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mike is survived by his daughter, Amy B. Wallace and husband, Chis and their children, Tyler, Nate and Seth Wallace all of Fayetteville, NC and his son, Matthew R. Burnette and his children, Trail and River Burnette all of Forest. He is also survived by his former daughter-in-law, Kim Watkins. In addition to his father, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Newton Edward Burnette.

Mike was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and an employee of Alliance Industrial.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today, March 28, 2011 at Timberlake United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tom Bryant and the Rev. Doug Pillow officiating.
