"Wood, Beverley Howard Bev WOOD DURHAM - Beverley Bev Howard Wood, 59., formerly of Lynchburg, Va., died Monday, April 16, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Durham. He had been a resident of Winston-Salem for the last 20 years, and at the time of his death he was residing in Durham. Born Oct. 24, 1948, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Raymond G. Wood Sr., and Edith Pridemore Wood. He is survived by his brother, Buddy Wood and his sister-in-law Mary C. Wood. Also surviving are his aunts, Margaret Duff, Betty Woody and Dot Hartless; his nephew, Jeffrey Wood and his wife Keena, as well as his niece, Kelly Reichard and her husband Dan, all of Lynchburg. Other survivors include his dear friend and caretaker, Dr. Randall Bond of Durham, and lifelong friends, David and Nancy Nein of Charlotte. He will be missed by many more friends and family members. He graduated from the University of Virginia, where he was a four-year recipient of the Folkes Scholarship. He then graduated from Washington and Lee School of Law. He was an active member of the Virginia Student Aid Foundation and was a 1 TRU HOO. He was a longtime employee of Wachovia, where he served as a senior vice president and a managing director for the Wachovia Executive Benefits Groups. Bev was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Southview United Methodist Church, 1601 Cliff Street, Lynchburg, with the Rev. George Riggins III officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bev' s family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danuers, MA, 01923; or to the Food Bank of Durham, 708 Gilbert Street, Durham, NC, 27701. The family will receive friendsfrom 7 to 9 p.m. today, April 18, at Heritage Funeral Service."
