Kathleen Jennings Drake

April 17, 1948 - December 3, 2022

Kathleen Jennings Drake, aged 74, of Hampton, VA passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

She left behind many who loved her, including her husband of over 40 years, Carl. Kathy and Carl were soul mates from the moment they met. Originally from Lynchburg, VA; the daughter of Floyd C. Jennings and Billie M. Jennings, she is survived by her brother F. Clark Jennings, Jr, and his wife Barbara of Midlothian, VA. In addition, she was a loving stepparent to Steve Drake of Henrico, Marc Drake, even though he was taken much too soon, and Carrie Vaughn of Chester, VA. She was loved by countless people she met along the pathways of life. She dearly loved her Blue and Gold Macaw, Schooner, of 27 years and he dearly loved her. She loved the beach, traveling, and visiting different seaports, cities, and islands with Carl in their sailboat. She was an elementary music teacher for 32 years in districts in VA, NC, SC, and FL. She lost a hard battle with COPD, one that she fought for 15 years. She fought right until the end and wanted to thank all those who had supported and encouraged her in her battle.
