Pat died about six months after our 25th high school reunion. She had a very short illness. At the time, she was happily married, with a step daughter and a very young son and they lived in Boulder, CO. Besides being a guitarist and singer that we might remember from EC Glass assemblies, she taught english at the college level and was working on a grammar book for teaching English as a second language. She stayed very close friends with one of our teachers, Sally Cupp. She was very funny and very smart!! We had a blast one summer when she was a strolling minstrel at the taverns in Colonial Williamsburg, and I waitressed in a French Restaurant.
I enjoyed the additional information about Pat Bruington. She was gifted in so many areas and just a nice person. Although her life was short lived, it seems that she had an abundance. It is important that we remember how our classmates lived, not how they died.
I so so sorry to hear of this loss for anyone and everyone who knew Pat and loved her. She was a talented and genuinely nice human being and left far too soon. I admired her talent with six strings and had the pleasure to play with her on several occassions, but besides her musical skills, she was a warm and humorous person who refused to allow anyone to be sad when she was around. RIP dear lady.
