TOBIAS, Betty Boylan, 66, of Chesterfield, died unexpectedly, February 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Betty B. Boylan. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim Tobias; her daughter, Sandy Tobias; son, Jay Tobias; grandson, Bradley Tobias; and granddogs, Holly and Abby; a brother, James H. Boylan Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Boylan and Beverly Platt; numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She retired from the University of Richmond Library after 32 years. She will be greatly missed for many reasons, including her sweet, loving, caring, warm generosity and kindness and for being a great mother. She always welcomed the ones in need and provided them love and security, along with some hard lessons to get them on their feet and going again. Through her lifework, untold numbers of lives were touched in the most positive ways. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park.
