Linda Peery Payne, 59, of Lake Street, Marlinton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 31, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Ind., a daughter of the late Gilbert Matthew and Dorothy Hiner Peery.
She taught special education for 25 years at Green Bank Elementary and Middle School. She loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. Linda was cherished by her family, friends and students.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura P. Solliday and husband, Daniel, of Green Bank; two grandsons, Mathias and Mason Solliday; and a sister, Claudia Downs and husband, Jim, of Roswell, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at the New Hope Brethren Church in Frost. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society, 301 R.H.L. Boulevard No. 6, South Charleston, W.Va. 25309. From 31 Aug 2007.
